It definitly will be sad to see the peace disturbed.
Mirbat port is one of my favorite places to sit with a cup of tea and watch the fishermen come in with their catch. The boats come as far as Ajman,UAE into mirbat to trade and go back again.
May Allah protect the beauty of mirbat and keep its charm alive.Umm Qahtanhttp://www.sweetnessofsalalah.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2311943055243587440.post-43765041435220701352011-10-14T19:53:29.845+04:002011-10-14T19:53:29.845+04:00Loved this post. Why are they planning on building so many large hotels? Personally what I think this area is lacking in, is small eco-friendly hotels/ guesthouses that preserve the local cultural heritage.
Khor Ruri/ Sumhuram is a magical place that "breaths" history & mysticism. The "crumbling" town of Mirbat in my opinion has some very interesting architecture and the same goes for the seafaring architecture of Sadah. The beaches & coves around Mirbat are among the prettiest in the world & the unspoiled marine life is amazing. I'm hoping the project developers will come to see this and change their plans....Travelallergyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07201624525565688899noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2311943055243587440.post-24729166688703564872011-10-12T15:53:34.072+04:002011-10-12T15:53:34.072+04:00A lovely article Susan! I am saddened to see them as they are now, in I fact took many pictures last year fearing that I may not see them again. No doubt there are plans to raze them to the ground to make way for modern buildings? The same goes for the old houses in Salalah. These dwellings, so beautifully designed, should be renovated and preserved. I was told that this was under consideration. Let`s hope so. They are a great tourist attraction. Dhofar is a wonderful place!Miriamnoreply@blogger.com
